Our productions

Our recent productions include:

MRC and MTC

Over almost three years, Making of Movies was entrusted with recording the design, construction and usage of the Melbourne Recital Centre and the permanent home for the Melbourne Theatre Company.

The Maestros

A one hour documentary celebrating the maestros who created the multi-award winning MTC theatre and the Melbourne Recital Centre in time for Dame Elisabeth Murdoch's 100th birthday.

Warm, informative and amusing, this program reveals the human side of the construction of an iconic project and reflects on the masters behind construction who created spaces for the maestros of performance.

Running time 55 minutes.

The Maestros

The Maestros
A half-hour television documentary created for Stvdio, the SBS pay TV arts channel, this shorter version of The Maestros concentrates on the outstanding and often unique design, creative and performance aspects of the dual project, creating the multi-award winning MTC theatre and the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Running time 28 minutes.

Making The Maestros

The idea for The Maestros documentary came to us as we watched and talked to the people designing and constructing the award-winning MTC theatre and Melbourne Recital Centre. Why did we do it? How do we feel about it? Making The Maestros gives some insights on the Melbourne Recital Centre and MTC Theatre buildings and our Making of Movies team who created The Maestros as a tribute to its creators.

Running time 10 minutes.

Along the way we made a number of progress reports, as well as a series of short videos for firms working on the Bovis Lend Lease project, including Bonacci Engineers, Elecraft Electrical and Vos Timber and Joinery.

Construction Percussion

Construction Percussion captures the Hard Hat Concert of April 2007 with the first commissioned piece for the Centre by Graeme Leak. Graeme, his distinguished percussionists and three building workers capture the sounds and energy of the building site in a benefit performance for the Royal Children's Hospital. See more about Graeme Leak at www.graemeleak.com.

Running time 17 minutes.

University of Melbourne Master of Teaching program

University of Melbourne webinar

Student recruiting through online 'webinars' involved creation of a video explaining and endorsing the new graduate program, following the Melbourne Model. To increase the cost-effectiveness of the exercise, versions from 6 to 10 minutes were edited, not just for the immediate web requirement, but also for other uses, such as exhibitions and open days.

Other productions for Bovis Lend Lease:

Subbies speaking
