Making of…

Major works: From 35mm filming of a Shell-sponsored film about bridging the awesome Brenner Pass in Austria to a video helping get property developers' big projects off the ground – as with the arts and recreation complex, Highmark of the Mountains.

Masterpieces: We have painted screen pictures of the visual arts on a broad canvas, including films such as Approach to Sculpture, Portrait of an Australian, Francis Bacon Paintings, JMW Turner, The Pre-Raphaelite Revolt, The Rough and the Smooth (Australian impressionists Tom Roberts and Charles Conder) and 41 films in the Australian Eye series David Muir made for Film Australia in collaboration with major galleries.

Major events: Whether a community celebration or a seemingly dull education conference, we know what wealth of screen material goes on 'behind the scenes'. We can make your event just as fascinating to the public as the inside story of a blockbuster movie. We help make your event memorable – and remembered.

Music filming ranges from jazz (Clouds of Joy at the Bendigo Gospel Festival) to major symphony orchestras at the Adelaide and Hong Kong Arts Festivals – and the first performances in the new Melbourne Recital Centre.

Theatre subjects include filming playwrights such as John Arden, as well as filming performances of Joan Littlewood's Oh what a lovely war at Stratford East. Drama and all the arts are included in Adelaide Festival of the Arts and Hong Kong Arts Festival – as well as the much-awarded Opus; some aspects of art and culture in Britain today. Indigenous Australian and modern European dance feature in the award-winning one-hour film, Road to the Stamping Ground. In Melbourne, Making of Movies recorded the performance of Servant of the Revolution in a Brunswick theatre and recorded events at the new home of the Melbourne Theatre Company in Southbank.

Whatever your next milestone may be, we can do it justice.

The Making of Movies team has the proven research skills to unearth creative possibilities in your subject to ensure both internal and general public interest. Our research makes use of unexpected material such as plans, sketches, souvenirs, charts and graphs, posters, displays and publicity material, as well as both sound and on-camera interviews.  Material is seamlessly and creatively integrated into the end product by effective editing and music scored, performed and recorded specifically for your story. You will then have a truly worthy, sympathetic and informative record.
